The Cool Women will be performing twice during the month of April (National Poetry Month). Their first gig is entitled “Cool Women Talk to the Animals” and will take place at the Franklin Township Public Library at 7 p.m. on April 6. The address of the library is 485 DeMott Lane, Somerset, NJ (phone 732-873-8700). A few days later, Saturday, April 9, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., they will be reading to the theme of “Cool Women Light” at the Hopewell Branch of the Mercer County Library, 245 Pennington-Titusville Rd., Pennington, NJ (phone 609-737-2610). This reading will be followed by light refreshments, and both readings are free and open to the public.
Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Hopewell Branch of the Mercer County Library (in Pennington). Poem-in-your-Pocket at the Library. We hope to have students, 5th grade and up, reading poems 15 lines or less that can be folded and put in a pocket. Six of the Cools will also bring poems to read. Teenagers and adults are also invited to bring poems in their pocket–favorites or their own work, 15 lines or less. Eloise Bruce, Lois Marie Harrod, Judy Michaels, Maxine Susman, Sharon Olson and Gretna Wilkinson will run the reading and provide refreshments. We will also bring some short poems so that people who come without a poem can find one to read.
